A Hermit Thrush in the evening light. You'll mostly find them foraging on the ground for insects or in shrubs, but this one posed long enough on my fence for me to snap a pic. They have the sweetest melody of any bird that I've heard - just like a flute!

Looking through some photo archives I came across this one. Although photographed from a very far distance and not super clear, it was a special moment for me seeing a coyote in the early morning light walking along these sand dunes so peacefully.

One of my favorite birds when exploring Mount Diablo. You can't mistaken their laughter-like calls. Acorn woodpeckers depend heavily on acorns and store them in holes like these. They live in family groups and work together to raise their young, gather food, and guard it.

I think coyotes are often misunderstood and an easy target to be the villain in situations that could probably be avoided by us to begin with. Please don't feed them. This is an old photo, but something I shared with @projectcoyoteorg awhile ago and thought it was a good reminder to share again. They are a wonderful organization with incredible resources to help us coexist with our wildlife neighbors.
